La population du Nouveau-Brunswick subit directement les effets des changements climatiques, que l’on pense aux inondations sans précédent le long de la rivière Saint-Jean en 2018 et 2019, à la tempête post-tropicale Dorian en 2019 et à la tempête de verglas en 2017. La nécessité d’agir collectivement dans l’urgence pour réduire les effets des changements climatiques et de faire la transition vers une économie sobre en carbone n’a jamais été aussi évidente.

Fighting for the Future: Youth Organizing for Climate Justice - In It for the Long Haul: Climate Grief and Sustainable Organizing

This February, join youth leaders in conversation with Dogwood staff about their organizing successes, along with hard-hitting political analysis on what it takes to win a better world for and as young people. These sessions are geared toward Canadian youth who want to organize for climate justice in their communities; and non-profit organizations that are looking to deepen their work with youth organizers. Each session will include critical analysis, real-world examples of success and failure, and time for Q&A.

Electric vehicles, solar panels and more: keys to a money saving, low emission lifestyle

Carl Duivenvoorden, Speaker & Sustainability Consultant, will be coming to the Rodeway Inn in Grand Falls on February 26th from 1:30 til 4:00 pm to share his experience on how has cut down on his emissions.  He will delve into the specifics of using an electric car as well as a solar array.  After the presentation, participants will be invited to familiarize themselves with electric and hybrid vehicles that will be outside.  If you have an electric or hybrid vehicle and would like to show it off, please let us know!  Please register ahead of time as space is limited.
