CLRA Atlantic 2025 Fall Symposium

CLRA Atlantic 2025 Fall Symposium By Canadian Land Reclamation Association Atlantic Chapter

Theme:
Returning to Roots – Rebuilding and Reclaiming What Has Been Lost

About the Event:

2025 has been discussed as the “Year of Reclamation”—a pivotal moment to focus on restoring natural systems, rebuilding ecosystems, and reclaiming lands that have been lost or neglected. This is a year when climate action is urgent, with businesses, communities, and governments accelerating efforts towards net-zero emissions and addressing climate change impacts.

Restoration of natural ecosystems such as forests, wetlands, and coastal areas plays a crucial role in both biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation.

The Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association invites you to join us for our Fall 2025 Reclamation Symposium in Sackville, New Brunswick on October 16th, 2025.

Event Highlights:

Morning Presentations:

  • Case Studies from current and past reclamation projects
  • Insights into new technologies for restoration
  • Industry suppliers and manufacturers on hand to discuss both proven and emerging solutions

Hosted Lunch:

Networking with industry professionals, practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers.

Afternoon Field Tour:
The Converse Salt Marsh—a 15.4-hectare tidal wetland restoration within the Tantramar Marsh system. Once protected by a failing dyke, the site underwent a significant realignment in 2018 to restore tidal flow and wetland habitat. Now vegetated and stabilizing, this site demonstrates the importance of tidal wetlands for coastal resilience. Participants will walk the restoration site, explore its dynamic systems, and learn about its ecological significance.
