Seniors for Climate Screening of the 'Later is Too Late' Documentary
Join Seniors for Climate for a special viewing of the new documentary, Later is Too Late, which captures the energy and impact of our first-ever National Seniors' Day of Climate Action on October 1, 2024. On that day, seniors, youth, Indigenous elders, and climate activists rallied in 76 communities across Canada—from Pugwash, NS, to Victoria, BC, to Yellowknife, NT—to demand urgent climate action.
About the Film
Later is Too Late (2025, 60 min) is an inspiring documentary by award-winning filmmaker Nancy Nicol and co-produced by Seniors for Climate. Through personal stories, it highlights the fears and hopes of people across Canada who are facing the climate crisis and taking action for a better future.
One participant in the film states: "We want to be the last generation hooked on oil and welcome the next generation to a clean, renewable future."
The documentary showcases the power of climate activism and aims to inspire more Canadians to get involved. Rogers has accepted the film for national distribution on its local cable stations, and Seniors for Climate organizers will be hosting screenings across Canada in April as part of Earth Day events.

Director Nancy Nicol (professor emerita, York University) is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with a long history of works on human rights and social justice.
About Seniors for Climate
Seniors for Climate, founded in 2024, is a Canada-wide community of seniors taking action on the climate crisis. Last year, 76 communities across Canada held a Seniors Day of Climate Action on Oct. 1. Several thousand seniors and allies marched, sang, danced, and rallied from coast to coast to coast, demanding that our governments tackle fossil fuel pollution and support the switch to clean energy.
Seniors for Climate is a project organized by six seniors’ climate action groups Suzuki Elders, Climate Action for Lifelong Learners (CALL), Grand(m)others Act to Save the Planet (GASP), Climate Legacy, Seniors for Climate Action Now! (SCAN!) and For Our Grandchildren (4RG).
