Earth Day Rally!Seniors for Climate Days of Action to celebrate Earth Week April 22nd is the 55th anniversary of Earth Day and Seniors for Climate is celebrating with a call to action focused on supporting the global goal to triple renewable energy supply by 2030. Burning fossil fuels pushes up temperatures, hurting everything we love. Extreme rains flood communities. Unnatural heat waves cause wildfires that destroy homes, fill skies with smoke and send vulnerable Canadians and New Brunswickers to hospital with heat stroke and asthma. Ordinary Canadians and New Brunswickers pay unfair costs – higher insurance, higher taxes to repair infrastructure, higher food costs when crops are destroyed. Oil and gas companies make billions while people suffer. |
