Dr. Ramos-Horta serves as the current president of the Southeast Asian country of Timor-Leste and is a 1984 graduate of Antioch University’s MA in Peace Studies. Ramos-Horta won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996 and returned to his home country in 1999 after 20 years of exile during the Indonesian military occupation. He served as Timor-Leste’s second president from 2007-2012.
