During this outing, you will learn how to identify local plants and flowers through a photo-scavenger hunt with Ukranian botanist and Nature Trust staff Viktoriia Spitsyna.
If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that the magic happens when you get people together. The first Social Enterprise Excellence conference is designed to do just that - bring together social enterprise leaders from all stages from across the province to get together, discuss their practice, learn from each other and deepen their practice. You’ll also get to see the results of 4 months of work from social enterprise practitioners as they present the results of their work growing their social enterprise practice in NB. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with the Social Enterprise Advisory Council of NB, and hear from our province’s top social enterprise leaders.
At this day-long event we will be completing our effort to clean up garbage from the Grand Lake shoreline at NCC’s The Keyhole property. The large floods from 2018 and 2019 left garbage and debris scattered in the woods and along the shoreline around the property. We’ve already cleaned half of it up, and we need your help to finish the job!

Nature Moncton is planning an exploration visit to the island on Thursday, July 13, 2023 (rain date July 14). As a bonus, we will also visit Nevers Island. Nevers Island is a small island very near the main island, and it has recently become a bird magnet due to the refurbished Ducks Unlimited impoundment. Gagetown Island is a short boat ride (15-20 minutes) from the Gagetown Marina. Frank Merrill with Ducks Unlimited has kindly offered to ferry folks to the island. John Johnston, naturalist, and historian, will be present to advise of the interesting significant story regarding the old homestead on the island.
