Emissions Cap Town Hall in Sackville
Join us for informal meetings to share your concerns about climate change, wildfires, storms, and flooding and let’s pave the way for impactful environmental actions in Canada.

A free dinner to be provided, because oil and gas CEOs don’t deserve a free meal, but you do.

Date: August 1st.
Venue: Sackville Commons at 18 Lorne St.
Time: 11:30 am.
Food will be an assortment of things.

Speakers include:
- Sabine Dietz and
- Gretchen Fitzgerald, Sierra Club Canada.

Our partner organization is the Tantramar Alliance Against Hydrofracking.

Have the feeling individual Canadians aren't at fault for Canada missing emissions targets? You're right. Wildfires now 'explode' on a regular basis, meanwhile oil & gas companies' huge profits & pollution hurt your wallet and our climate.

Join us in Sackville & let’s “put a cap on it.”

We're at a pivotal moment in our fight against climate change, and your voice is more crucial than ever! As a community, we have the power to “PUT A CAP ON IT” a and hold wealthy oil and gas companies accountable and make them do their fair share to cut emissions as Canada's most polluting sector.

And it's about time they did their fair share, since for every dollar of inflation over two years in Canada, 25 cents of what YOU paid in inflation went to oil and gas and mining extraction profits.

Join us for an informal meeting in Sackville and bring your friends!

Share your concerns about climate change and its impacts, such as wildfires, loss of biodiversity, and hurricanes and let's pave the way for impactful environmental actions in Canada.

MARCH MONTHLY MEETING PRESENTATION

TICK TALK”: TICKS IN NB AND HOW TO LIVE WITH THEM

TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2025, 7:00 PM

MAPLETON ROTARY LODGE

PRESENTER: NELSON POIRIER

Ticks have been with us in New Brunswick for a very long time but have not been a human problem. That has changed dramatically in recent years as the one species that is the number one vector of arthropod-carrying disease organisms in the US is very rapidly moving into Canada. This species is the Black-legged Tick, which has become a major health concern in NS and is now expanding its range into NB.

Nature Moncton April Meeting

April Monthly Meeting Presentation

“Wild Bees in New Brunswick”

April 15, 2025, 7:00 PM

Mapleton Rotary Lodge

Presenter: Emily Austen

Did you know that New Brunswick is home to over 250 species of wild bees?

Wild bees perform essential pollination services, facilitating the reproduction of wild plants and several regionally important crops, including blueberry, apple, and cranberry. However, wild pollinators in general and bees in particular are threatened by land use change, climate change, insecticide exposure, pathogen spillover from managed bees, and more. A further challenge is scarcity of data on species distributions.

Pickard Quarry Nature Park (Sackville)

Leader: Richard Elliot

The site of the former Pickard Quarry in Sackville has evolved from industrial glory to a nature park and wetland area that is becoming a must-visit site for Sackville, similar to the Sackville Waterfowl Park, but with rolling wooded slopes and low rocky cliffs surrounding two quarry ponds. These varied habitats have attracted many bird species and other wildlife, as well as a diverse flora with native and non-native species.
