The Knowlesville Art & Nature Centre (knowlesvillenature.ca) runs a forest school 4-days a week and each Thursday we welcome homeschooling families to join us. We have two age groups (5-9 year olds) and (9-12 year olds). We gather for an outdoor circle of song and movement, then do our daily chores which at times is hauling firewood, shoveling snow, feeding animals, hauling water or sanding icy walkways. Then we separate into our groups and delve into our story, art and projects for the day. Snacks and lunch and games are always included as well in the daily rhythm and the land is our classroom, whether we are out in it fully or working with our hands on projects or creative writing in warm spaces indoors or semi-sheltered (weather dependent). We are offering an immersive experience into our world as part of EECOM 2023. Children are welcome, but space overall is limited to ten adults.
Come join us for an afternoon workshop at the Ville Cooperative in Fredericton, NB, for members of the Great Minds Think Outside and School Garden SEA Teams!
The bilingual Electrifying Our School Buses Workshop will occur on December 10, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. The event aims to connect educators and environmental advocates to raise awareness about electric school buses (ESBs) in New Brunswick.
Participants can expect a presentation that highlights the benefits of ESBs, a demonstration of how to incorporate ESBs into lessons or activities, and a collaborative group activity designed to create educational materials focusing on ESBs, ending with a speed networking portion to facilitate meaningful connections among educators.
The event encourages networking and resource sharing. Its goal is to integrate sustainability into educational curricula and inspire advocacy for ESBs in schools and communities.
