Hands-on Workshop : Coastal protection using the Living Shorelines approach

The Pays de Cocagne Sustainable Development Group (GDDPC) and the Communauté rurale Beausoleil invite you to take part in a hands-on workshop presented by Rosmarie Lohnes of Helping Nature Heal.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday October 18 2023, from 1 pm to 5:00 p.m., at the Cocagne Marina, 130 Marina Street, Cocagne NB, E4R 2T1

Helping Nature Heal uses materials from nature, advanced science and ecosystem restoration expertise to restore vegetation and to help stabilize shorelines.

The objective of the workshop is to take an inventory and conduct maintenance work on the natural infrastructure created along the bank in June 2023. Rosmarie will inspect the premises while indicating techniques for maintaining the installations that control erosion. Participants will help add straw and brush to protect plants for winter.

Participation is free.

This initiative is made possible by the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund, the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund, Nature NB and the Communauté rurale Beausoleil. The GDDPC thanks Vision H2O and the Shediac Bay Watershed Association for their collaboration.
