About the Derby

Presented by the Perch Dads and the Belleisle Watershed Coalition

Join us in celebrating the life and legacy of one of Belleisle Bay's finest — Barry David Reicker — with a day of fishing, community, and good times on the water.

This family-friendly event promises plenty of fish, smiles, and prizes — all in support of local watershed protection and youth programming, including the Belleisle Watershed Discovery Camp.

Registrations are now open!

• Kids (10 & under): FREE
• Junior (11–17): $25
• Adult (18+): $25

What to Expect on Derby Day

All participants must check in at the Hatfield Point Wharf before heading out to fish. There, you'll:

• Receive your official derby token (required in all fish measurement photos)
• Pick up your derby information package
• Collect any hats purchased during registration

Catches can be submitted between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Submissions sent outside this time will not be eligible.

All participants must return to the wharf by 4:00 PM, when:

• Winners for the longest smallmouth bass, pickerel, and yellow perch in each age category will be announced
• Registration prize draws will take place
• Derby hats, laughs, and high-fives will be flying

Whether you're casting for the win or just coming to enjoy the atmosphere, everyone is welcome at the wharf.

Let's make it another unforgettable day on the water — just like Barry would've wanted.

Tight lines!
