Spring Birding at the Rez

The Rez - Little River Reservoir

“Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the birdies is” They are at the Rez!

There are three dates to choose from!
- April 29th led by Hank Scarth from 7:30AM - 11:30AM
- May 17th led by Susanne Bonnell from 7:15AM - 11:00AM
- May 21st led by Susanne Bonnell from 7:15AM - 11:00AM

Our guides Hank Scarth and Susanne Bonnell will lead us around the Rez trail looking for early spring migrants among the year-round residents. Although the peak of migration will be a couple of weeks away, many migrants will have arrived and we never know what we might find; perhaps some early warblers, vireos and flycatchers.

The three kilometer Rez trail is flat and smooth so this outing is well suited for all ages and all levels of experience and fitness.

Meet at the parking lot of the Little Reservoir Park on Loch Lomond Road. Dress for the weather and bring your binoculars (we will have extras) and field guides.

As numbers are limited and noting that we may need to contact you in the event of a weather disruption, pre-registration is required.

What is the public opinion in New Brunswick of nature-based climate solutions?

As a part of the Research and Knowledge Initiative, the NBEN contracted Atlantic Canada based polling firm, Narrative Research, to conduct a public poll on the understanding of and support for nature-based climate solutions by New Brunswick Residents. The reports are available here. Join us for a free one-hour webinar to learn about our findings in more depth, and how these findings are informing the future work of the project and gaps in the area of adaptation and mitigation of climate change in New Brunswick. These results provide context for how concerned New Brunswickers are about the effects of climate change, how prepared they feel to combat the effects, and their preferences regarding nature-based versus engineered approaches to climate adaptation. This webinar may be of interest to government staff, residents, non-profits, and businesses working in the realm of adaptation to climate change and infrastructure.
