Growing Water Heroes: How kids can lead a water action movement

Growing Water Heroes: How kids can lead a water action movement By International Institute for Sustainable Development

Growing Water Heroes is a one-hour, interactive webinar for policy makers, philanthropists, educators, program leaders, and organizations working with children in Grades K–8. This engaging session explores how kids can build identity, confidence, and community as water stewards, becoming “water heroes” where they live, learn, and play.

Through humour, visuals, and hands-on examples, the webinar highlights three connected pathways into water action:
Place-based experiences, including watershed models and aquifer demonstrations

Featuring:

Stories and art, featuring books, games, songs, and youth storytelling
Screen-to-action tools, showing how children’s media like Future Chicken can inspire real-world impact.

Participants will leave with practical ideas, inspiration, and tools to support meaningful water learning and action with kids. Interactive moments during the session and a follow-up classroom resource package are planned
