The new Canadian Environmental Assessment Act for 2012 came into force on July 6th, 2012. The Minister of Environment sought comments on the Project List Regulations. The agency aimed to provide environmental groups with an overview of CEAA 2012 and listen to suggestions on possible amendments, during a half-day session. The meeting was held in Ottawa on July 25, 2012, but participants were also able to phone in from anywhere or participate through video conference in Halifax. Alternatively, groups were also invited to send in their written comments, until August 24, 2012.
