Birding at the Irving Nature Park with Hank Scarth (World Migratory Bird Day)

Join Saint John Naturalists Club on May 10 from 8:00–11:00 AM for a guided birding walk at Irving Nature Park with Hank Scarth.

We’ll start on the Broken Ankle Trail (you’ll have to join us to hear the story behind the name), making our way to the lagoons, Children’s Forest Road, Sheldon Head Trail, and down to the marsh and boardwalk.

This walk is rated moderate, covering 4–5 km with uneven terrain, potentially wet areas, and one uphill climb. Sturdy, waterproof footwear is advised.
Meeting Point: Parking lot overlooking the Children’s Forest, 500 m past the Irving Barn on Sand Cove Road (on the right).

What to Bring:
  • Water
  • Sunscreen and insect spray
  • Binoculars and/or camera (loaner binoculars available)
  • Field guide
  • Layered clothing
