SUMMARY:EDCs & Reproductive Health: Effects of chemical mixtures on ovarian
  function
DESCRIPTION:By&nbsp\;Collaborative for Health &amp\; EnvironmentUp to 15% o
f women of reproductive age are infertile\, with ovarian disorders as the
leading cause. These disorders include primary ovarian insufficiency\, pol
ycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)\, anovulation\, and aneuploidy. Thus far\, t
he underlying mechanisms of ovarian dysfunctions remain largely unknown bu
t have been related to exposure to environmental endocrine disrupting chem
 icals (EDCs)\, including dioxins\, phthalates\, bisphenols\, polycyclic ar
omatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)\, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS
). Most prior research focuses only on a single EDC\, but humans in the re
al world are exposed to complex EDC mixtures.
