Effective Letter Writing

Letter writing may seem outdated, but even with our modern technology and social media networks, it continues to be an important advocacy tool. It is personal and direct, showcases public support or will, and creates a physical receipt of your interaction with your elected leaders, unlike phone calls.

Join the Youth Environmental Action Network and the Climate Reality Project for a hands-on workshop where you will be equipped with skills and knowledge to craft compelling letters and run successful advocacy campaigns to influence public policy and community issues. At the end of the workshop, you will be given time to write a letter to one of your local leaders regarding An Act Respecting the Right To A Healthy Environment.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided! Please bring an electronic device with you if you wish to type your letter. Paper, pens, envelopes, and stamps will be provided if you would like to write a letter by hand.
