About the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty: Endorsing the Treaty helps municipalities reject new fossil fuel infrastructure and sets the stage for effective decarbonization policies. In BC and the US, similar motions have opened doors for wins like building decarbonization bylaws and local fights against fossil fuel projects. Unlike complex building codes, this approach provides a straightforward, proven path for local action.

Direct Support for Atlantic Municipalities: We are excited to introduce our new Halifax-based contractor, Sophia Lindfield, who brings expertise and capacity to work hands-on with local groups to propose and pass these Treaty motions. For the first time, communities will benefit from personalized step-by-step support, organizing toolkits, trainings, and digital resources—making success achievable for every municipality.
