DESCRIPTION:Tree Canada is excited to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD)\, p
 resented by BMO. This is the biggest NTD celebration yet\, with planting e
 vents taking place across the country on both the Wednesday and Saturday o
 f National Forest Week.Join us to plant trees at Queen Square West and con
 nect with nature. Volunteers will plant 25 large trees and 20 shrubs\, and
  will assist with maintenance of the existing trees and rain garden (inclu
 ding pulling weeds and mulching). Tree Canada experts and volunteers will 
 be there to provide support and answer your tree questions. We’ll also p
 rovide gloves and shovels! This event is completely FREE!How you'll be mak
 ing an impactThe open green space of this urban park is well used by the c
 ommunity for playing field sports\, lounging\, enjoying the ocean view\, a
 nd walking dogs. In addition to being a valuable green space this park als
 o serves as a community gathering point\, with multiple community events h
 appening throughout the year. To support the ongoing use of this park\, ad
 ditional trees and shrubs will be planted to replace fallen trees and incr
 ease the amount of shade and native biodiversity in the park.Find out more
