Birding for Beginners Workshop with Hank Scarth

Looking to connect with nature and learn more about birds? Join Nature Saint John for an exciting workshop called "Birding for Beginners" by Hank Scarth of the Saint John Naturalists Club on March 22nd from 9AM-12PM at the Rockwood Park Interpretation Centre.
Our agenda for the day will include:
· Introduction to birding and its benefits
· Tips on how to choose, use and maintain binoculars
· How, where and when to find birds
· How to identify our local birds through field marks and songs
· Discussion of reference guides we recommend for further learning
· Plenty of time for your questions
· Plus, we will spend a little time outside the Interpretation Centre practicing what we have learned!

Snacks will be provided and we encourage you to bring your binoculars and bird guides if you have them. We will have several pairs of binoculars on hand, if you don’t have your own. As well, a pen and paper to take notes may be useful. The workshop is open to all ages.
