Join us to learn and share about Project:Village this coming Tuesday, August 24th @ 6 PM at the Stella Maris Hall in Blacks Harbour.
We will have the new electric cars for our transportation service available for test drives. We will also have our architect available for input on a new housing development in the village.
ALL are welcome! There will be LOTS of fun activities for kids including a design competition for an art mural project on the old Freshmart building. Drinks and food will be available!

What a treat we have in store for you on the Labour Day Weekend!

It’s Lennie Gallant of PEI - Multiple award-winning songwriter and musician - Juno awards, East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) and the 2017 ECMA Entertainer of the Year award!

Yes, Lennie will be right here in person at the Cambridge-Narrows Bandstand on September 4 for a fundraising concert (or at the school in case of rain).

Covid plans will be in place for the outdoor venue. An indoor plan will also be in place if the school is used. Patrons can wear masks if they choose to. Hand sanitizers will be available. All public health restrictions for September 4th will be respected. .

Lennie graciously agreed for this concert to be a fund raiser for a special project of Voices for Sustainable Environments and Communities - our recently established Girvan Harrison Memorial Scholarship in Environmental Studies. The proceeds of the concert will go toward helping a post-secondary student from this region pursue studies in environment and climate change.

The Climate Action and Awareness Fund (CAAF) has opened a Community-based climate action Request for Proposals (RFP). The objective of this RFP is to support projects that will develop knowledge, tools and/or skills that engage communities in climate action. Community-based climate action projects should help to support Canada’s goals for climate action, such as net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The deadline for submitting a proposal is 15:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on January 6, 2022.
