A Presentation for the Birds
The Pokeshaw/Black Rock Lions Club and the Pokeshaw/Black Rock Recreation Council have organized a presentation by Roland Chiasson.
Roland was born in Nova Scotia. He moved to Tabusintac in 1990 and then later moved to Sackville, NB in 2002.
He graduated from Acadia University with a specialization in wildlife biology. He obtained a masters in environmental education and biological conservation from York University. He later obtained a teaching's certificate from Mount Allison University.
Hew has worked as a park naturalist for Parks Canada, taught in the schools, was the education manager for Cape Jourimain Nature Centre and worked as an environmental consultant. He currently works for the Aster Group, an environmental workers co-op, as a wildlife biologist.
His talk will be an introduction to some common local birds both on the land and along the coast, followed by an outing to identify some birds at the Pokeshaw Park.
