Miscou Webinars Series: An island in transition
Tuesday 09 March 2021 - 06:00pm - Tuesday 09 March 2021 07:30pm
Healthy Coasts NB is hosting two evening webinars March 9th and March 11th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm, where experts will share knowledge about how protecting nature can help keep New Brunswick’s coastal communities safe and healthy in a changing environment.

Learn about the role of beaches, dunes and wetlands in protecting coastal communities. Also, learn what it means when an area is nominated for protection under the provincial Nature Legacy program, and about which rare species call these environments home.

These webinars are open to everyone — especially residents of Miscou Island and the Acadian Peninsula. There will be lots of time for your questions to the experts, so join in and share your thoughts and questions.

There will be two speakers on March 9th:

  • Roland Chiasson presenting: "Miscou: A beautiful island in transition where ecosystems live on the edge" (presentend in French with English translation)
  • Heather Loomer presenting: "New Brunswick’s Nature Legacy: what it means when lands and freshwater becomes a Protected Area" (presented in English with French translation)
