NATURE WALK AND TALK
Wednesday 02 September 2020 - 11:00am - Wednesday 02 September 2020 12:30pm

NATURE WALK AND TALK SEPTEMBER 2, 11:00am-12:30pm, Old Government House parking lot, 51 Woodstock Road, Fredericton

IMPORTANT:

Before the end of September 2020, the City of Fredericton plans to remove healthy, mature Eastern White Cedars, home to migratory birds, located on unceded territory and a National Historic Site, Old Government House.

The City is ignoring its own citizens; the concerns of conservationists, naturalists, and ornithologists; the fact that these mature cedars are located on unceded territory and the standards for protecting the cultural landscape of heritage sites under federal jurisdiction.

PLEASE come out on September 2 (11am-12:30pm) to Old Government House to learn about trees, birds, the importance of preserving mature, healthy trees for all of our sakes, and how we can take steps to establish an Urban Forest Plan for Fredericton so that, like other cities with UFPs, we can work together to protect and preserve our natural inheritance.

Kids can create an Art Project and everyone can go on a “Nature Walk & Talk” with NB naturalist Dr. Jim Goltz to learn things you didn’t know you didn’t know about trees, habitat, and wildlife. All can observe live artists creating in real time, inspired by the trees, the birds, the river, and the sky. Ron Tremblay, Grand Chief of Wolastoq Grand Council, will be attending to participate in discussing our relationship with and indebtedness to the natural bounty of New Brunswick.

Be there or be (Officers’) Square
