Learn about remote sensing and participatory mapping during semi-structured interviews with community members to map past storm surge events and future sea level rise in Eel River Bar First Nation. With these methods, the GMRC identified vulnerable infrastructures and culturally significant areas to be impacted by sea level rise.

About the Presenter

Dr. Carole-Anne Gillis brings to the GMRC team her passion and expertise in researching aquatic species and habitat research. She grew up along the shores of the Restigouche River and believes it has inspired her career path. Carole-Anne describes her passion to specialize in science as "being useful to my community and my watershed.” Carole-Anne has been actively working in our membership communities since 2014. She feels a sense of fulfillment in working at GMRC.
