Upper Wolastoq/Saint John River Paddle,
Saturday 27 July 2019 -  - Saturday 27 July 2019 
Join local stewards for a paddle to two of our island nature preserves located in the Florenceville-Bristol area on the Upper Wolastoq/Saint John River to check on the health of the islands. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and PFD. Canoes and kayaks can be rented from Riverview Outfitters for the excursion.

*There is poison ivy on some of the islands. Please wear closed toed shoes, socks and long sleeves when venturing into the wooded areas.

Space is limited, so please register in advance by visiting:

What to Bring:
- Transportation (Canoe or Kayak) and personal flotation device (PFD);
- Appropriate clothing for the weather and conditions;
- Water and snacks;
- Sunscreen and DEET Free insect repellent;
- Dry Bag;
- Notebook and pen or pencil (optional)

Eagle’s Eye Nature Preserve protects over 31 acres of wetland and forested land on the Lower Presque Isle Island in the middle of the Wolastoq/Saint John River. The preserve was named by the Florenceville Elementary School because of the healthy population of eagles often seen flying over the island. The Green Island Nature Preserve is an ecologically significant island, protecting 20 acres of wetland and woodland, which are home to various types of species at risk.

Participants will be meeting at the gazebo at Riverside Park, located at 9173 Main Street, Florenceville-Bristol, NB E7L 2Y3, in order to launch off.
