On June 28, 2019, the Government of Canada released the Carbon Pollution Pricing: Options for a Federal GHG Offset System paper. This discussion paper provides information on the proposed federal GHG Offset System. It is available at https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/climate-change/pricing-pollution-how-it-will-work/federal-offset-system.html.

ECCC is inviting comments on the proposed design elements of the Federal GHG Offset System until August 30, 2019. Comments can be submitted at ec.tarificationducarbonecarbonpricing.ec@canada.ca.

A webinar for interested parties will be held on July 11, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm (ET) to provide:

· an overview of the discussion paper;

· an opportunity to pose questions and provide preliminary comments; and,

· information on process and timelines to provide feedback.

The webinar will be presented in English; however, the PowerPoint deck and question period will be bilingual.
