Deadline: Atlantic Ecosystems Initiatives Funding Program

Environment and Climate Change Canada's (ECCC) Atlantic Ecosystems Initiatives (AEI) Funding Program is currently accepting applications for 2019-2020 funding. The deadline for applications is January 11, 2019.

Priorities for 2019-2020

Geographic Focus
For 2019-2020, the priority ecosystems of focus are the Saint John River Watershed, and the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence Watershed.  Projects must take place in one of these two areas.  
Issue of Focus: Water Quality

Funding is available for new projects that help to conserve, protect, and restore water quality from headwaters to estuaries within one of the priority ecosystems in Atlantic Canada.  Priority will be given to projects that improve the assessment, monitoring, modelling and mitigation of stressors and their cumulative effects on water quality.  Projects are required to focus on specific stressors: Nutrients, Bacteria, and/or Micro-plastics.

Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants include all Atlantic Canada-based indigenous governments and organizations, non-government organizations, coalitions and networks of organizations, research and academic institutions.
