National Energy Board
On June 20, 2016, the Government of Canada launched a review of environmental and regulatory processes, including modernizing the National Energy Board. The public was invited to make comments to the Expert Panel. On May 15, 2017, the Expert Panel on the Modernization of the National Energy Board released its report with recommendations and advice. The Expert Panel accepted comments on the report until June 14, 2017. Find out more here.
Mactaquac Hydroelectric Generating Station
Mactaquac Hydroelectric Generating Station is expected to reach the end of its service life in 2030. NB Power has identified three possible options for the station, each with broad implications for people and the environment. In 2015-16, New Brunswickers were invited to help shape the future of the station through an online survey, open house events, presentations, workshops, community meetings, and commenting on draft reports.
