Assessing climate risk: Choosing the right approach for your communityThinking long-term about risks in your community? Overwhelmed by the different choices for risk assessments? Join CLIMAtlantic and the
Climate Risk Institute (CRI) to learn how to match your approach to climate challenges with what best suits your needs. Understand how different types of climate change risk assessments (CCRAs) are used to address different goals, decisions and levels of capacity.
Drawing from real, municipal examples, this 90-minute webinar will outline the different types of CCRAs and practical approaches to assessing likelihood and risk. It will also cover scoping, using semi-qualitative and quantitative data, dealing with different vulnerabilities, impacts on different groups, watching out for maladaptation (unintended negative outcomes), and deciding on next steps. French interpretation will be available.
Registrants will receive a sign-up link for optional 1-on-1 support sessions with CRI this fall.
This project is carried out with funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund and the Government of Canada.
