We will explore the forest in the Nashwaak River Protected Natural Area to learn about the vital role fungi play in forest ecosystems, as well as some basic mushroom identification.

Date: Saturday, June 6, 12:00–4:00 PM
Location: Meet at the Cross Creek Lions Club, 1284 Route 107, Cross Creek, NB E6B 1V6

We will meet at the Cross Creek Lions Club at 12:00 PM and travel together to the hike site. An SUV or truck will be needed to reach the site, but carpooling from the Lions Club is possible. Please note that there is no cell service in Cross Creek or within the Protected Natural Area.

The hike has little to no elevation gain and is less than a 300 meter walk in the forest, although there is no trail and is on uneven terrain. Please dress for the weather. Sunscreen, long pants, appropriate footwear, and a water bottle are recommended.
