SUMMARY:Bur Oak Planting Event In Maugerville
DESCRIPTION:Join volunteer Frank Camm and Nature Trust staff as we work tog
ether to plant 100 bur oak trees on the beautiful Noloqonokek Nature Prese
 rve!
In 2021\, hundreds of acorns were collected by Mr. Camm and volunte
ers. Volunteers grew the seeds in air pruning boxes in their backyards\, w
ith the overall goal of growing them to a sustainable size\, to place on o
 ur nature preserves.
This tree species is one of the last old-growth tre
e species present on the floodplains in NB\, and their populations are con
tinuously dwindling. Bur oaks are a valuable tree in many ways\, due to th
eir hardiness and ability to survive for hundreds of years\, as well as th
eir leaves and acorns offering a food source for many species.
 Come join
us in restoring the land at Noloqonokek while providing an ideal habitat
 for wildlife!
