Salary and benefits: Up to $26.24 hour depending on experience with two weeks vacation and a paid week off during office closure in December. The NBEN is an extremely supportive and collaborative workplace, offering training opportunities, and a flexible work schedule. After a probationary period of 6 months, the NBEN offers a generous health benefits package (including health and dental benefits, paid at 100% by the employer).
Term of employment: 30 hours a week. Moncton, New Brunswick, or from home office. Position’s Duties and Responsibilities: The Youth Programs Coordinator will spearhead a number of activities in support of the NBEN’s Youth Environmental Action Network. The job will include the following major tasks:
- Coordination of the Youth Environmental Action Network, a forum for youth between the ages of 16-25 to discuss climate action, share experiences, learn, and take action
- Engage with the NBEN’s youth membership and build relationships with other youth-led environmental groups and youth advocates
- Help plan, coordinate, and attend youth events for the Youth Environmental Action Network
- Manage the Youth Environmental Action Network’s social media presence to increase online engagement
- Creation of monthly Youth Environmental Action Network newsletters
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and help other staff members with their work as needed.

Position Requirements:
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- The ability to keep track of many moving pieces and small details; solid coordination and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with a set of instructions, but also a co-operative team player who isn’t afraid to ask for support or clarification from our highly collaborative team
- Excellent computer skills and experience with, or willingness to learn, the following programs: CiviCRM, Wordpress, Joomla, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Asana, Canva
- Be a resident of New Brunswick or a First Nation community in New Brunswick, or be willing to relocate for a permanent position as agreed to when discussed upon hiring
- Written and spoken fluency in French and English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A valid driver’s license
Assets:
- Experience with fundraising, including prospecting, grant writing, sponsorship and donor solicitation
- Experience with a network or community hub
- Capable of working in a combination of virtual and in-person environments
- Community-minded
Preference for applicants with training, volunteering, or experience in environmental groups and non-profits
