EOS Eco-EnergyEOS is an award-winning not-for-profit organization focused on helping communities address climate change in the Memramcook-Tantramar region and beyond. We are partnering with the Town of Sackville on a Climate Change Coordinator position. We’re looking for an outgoing, engaging, dynamic individual to coordinate municipal climate change projects for the Town of Sackville, NB. The Climate Change Coordinator will work out of the EOS office in beautiful Sackville, New Brunswick office (following all COVID-19 safety procedures) and will work to implement the Town of Sackville's adaptation and emissions reduction action plans, educate Town staff and Council, and raise public awareness about climate change impacts and actions at the local level.

Responsibilities:
* The Climate Change Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the municipality’s climate change priorities. The Coordinator will contribute to the development and implementation of organizational changes at the municipality that will lead to operational savings and the reduction of GHG emissions. The Coordinator will also be responsible for responding to projects identified by Council as they may arise. Other duties and responsibilities may include:
* Research and development of relevant policies and regulations to support mitigation and adaptation work.
* Coordinate projects such as the installation of a downtown EV charging station and related public engagement.
* Preparation and presentation of regular updates to the Town (including Town Council) and EOS Eco-Energy.
* Lead and support community education and awareness programs and collaborate with environmental organizations in Sackville.
* Establish and maintain partnerships with other organizations.
* Preparation and submission of project reports and funding proposals.
* Attend meetings of the Mayor’s Roundtable on Climate Change, Chignecto Climate Change Collaborative, etc.
* General help with office tasks, public inquiries, attend EOS meetings, project budgeting, report writing, liaise with funders and partners, communicate with EOS members and volunteers, etc.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
* Strong knowledge and experience in the areas of GHG emissions reduction, climate change adaption and mitigation, and sustainable development within the context of municipal government.
* Strong research and analytical skills and a good ability to conceptualize.
* Excellent presentation, and facilitation skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
* Community outreach experience and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community stakeholders.
* Experience working with the public.
* Experience writing funding applications is an asset.
* Strong multi-tasking, organizational skills and understanding of the community-based project management process.
* Eagerness to learn new skills and participate in training opportunities.
* Ability to work independently and in a team setting on a variety of assigned tasks.
* Strong computer skills with knowledge of various computer software packages including Apple, Microsoft Office and the Adobe Suite of programs and effective social media skills.

Qualifications:
* At least a Bachelor’s degree and some work experience in community development, environmental planning, environmental studies, sustainable development or related field is required.
* Fluency in English (French an asset).
*Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be helpful.
* The successful applicant enjoys small town living and is outgoing, engaging, creative, confident, responsible, energetic, has excellent time management and interpersonal skills, good judgement, and is self-motivated.
* Must be 30 or under; unemployed, underemployed, or a recent grad; a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.

Position Details:
September 2021 to at least March 2022. The position is 40 hours a week with a flexible schedule. Become part of our energetic EOS team and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere in our beautiful Main Street office overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Potential for extension, depending on funding. Salary range of $19-23 per hour dependent on experience.
