Canada’s 54 national wildlife areas (NWA) are created and managed for wildlife conservation, research and interpretation purposes under the Canada Wildlife Act and these areas are managed in accordance to the Wildlife Area Regulations.
On September 19, 2016, the Government of Canada posted seven draft policies on the Species at Risk Public Registry. These policies listed below support the predictable, clear and consistent implementation of the Species at Risk Act.
The Species at Risk Act recognizes the need for consultation with those who may be affected by the conservation of species at risk. The public has an opportunity to comment on proposed documents. For the list of current public consultations, click here.
