Groupe de développement durable du Pays de Cocagne
The students and teachers of l’École Blanche-Bourgeois maintain a nursery, a vegetable garden and a composting centre with the help of the Groupe de développement durable du Pays de Cocagne. The students learn about the Acadian forest and sell trees to finance projects. From one year to the next, the students help with various aspects of the garden. A demonstration site for composting has been developped to promote its benefits at the school. The students compost the organic waste from the garden and the cafeteria kitchen.
