Conservation Council of New Brunswick

The Learning Outside project helps New Brunswick’s children re-connect with nature by developing creative ways to integrate nature into the teaching of all school subjects. It encourages teachers to take curriculum outside by providing support, resources, and outdoor activities linked to curriculum outcomes. The project works primarily with teachers and their classes, but has also worked with other groups. Focusing on ‘nearby nature’, it incorporates activities highlighting New Brunswick’s ecosystems, habitats, and species to help students develop an understanding of and appreciation for New Brunswick’s rich natural heritage and the importance of good stewardship. It also helps with development of outdoor classrooms and natural spaces on and near school grounds. Additional information.
