Position Description
Position Title: Technician/Biologist
Organization: Shediac Bay Watershed Association
Salary: Based on Qualifications and Experience in accordance
with industry standards, 37.5 hr/wk. $10-15/hr
Term: Term – June 24, 2013- August 31, 2013
Location: Shediac Bay Marina, Shediac, N.B.
Position Reports To: Executive Director/Manager
Position Overview:
The objective of this position is to provide day to day support to ongoing programs of Shediac Bay Watershed and its Board of Directors. Primary tasks would encompass outreach educational programs and seminars to the public at a variety of locations.
Education/Certification:
- Candidates should be entering or working on a relevant post secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field. Preferable relevant fields would include, but not necessarily be restricted to, biology, environmental, fisheries, education.
Skills/Abilities:
- Work both independently and as part of a team under the manager’s direction.
- Possess interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.
- Be highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision to meet program objectives within deadlines. Ability to prepare power point presentations on a variety of pre-determined science related seminars to be delivered at an interpretation centre and to manage an information booth at the local Sunday Market in Shediac on Sundays.
- Possess strong skills in Microsoft office
- Have a valid driver’s licence.

Le Réseau environnemental du Nouveau-Brunswick est un réseau de communication à but non lucratif bilingue qui relie plus de 90 groupes environnementaux de toutes les régions de la province. Le réseau est le cœur du mouvement environnemental avec la mission d’encourager et de faciliter l’établissement de liens et de communications entre les groupes membres afin de faire progresser leurs travaux, de protéger la Terre, de promouvoir des façons de vivre saines et écologiques et de renforcer le mouvement environnemental au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Salaire: 11 $ par heure pour 37.5 heures par semaine
Début de l’emploi : 3 Juin 2013 – milieu d’août 2013, position de 10 semaines
Conditions d'emploi: à plein temps, position d’été, du lundi au vendredi de 9 heures à 17 heures avec des travaux occasionnels durant les fins de semaine et durant la soirée.

Exigences du poste:
Ce poste exige de l’expérience dans les domaines de l’éducation, de la santé et de l’environnement, ou des soins de santé et avec des interactions directes et des communications avec une grande variété de parties prenantes. L’assistant ou l’assistante aux programmes de santé et d’éducation va mettre en place un nombre de projets de développement communautaire conçus pour renforcer l’engagement dans des initiatives en éducation en vue du développement durable, ainsi que des activités pour promouvoir la santé des enfants et l’environnement. La personne choisie va aussi acquérir une expérience valable en évaluation de projets en procédant à l’évaluation complète des services de l’organisation.

• Compétences en organisation et en coordination de projets.
• Fortes compétences en communication écrite et orale à la fois en anglais et en français.
• Bonne base de travail avec les ordinateurs.
• Bien dans sa personne.

Summer Job: Health & Education Programs Assistant
The New Brunswick Environmental Network is a non-profit, bilingual communication network linking over 90 environmental groups across the province. The network is the heartbeat of the environmental movement, with a mission “to encourage and facilitate networking and communication among member groups in order to advance their work, to protect the Earth, to promote ecologically sound ways of life and to strengthen the environmental movement in New Brunswick.”
Salary: $11.00 / hour for 37.5 hours per week
Term of employment: June 3, 2013 – mid August 2013 - 10 week full time position, Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 with occasional evenings and weekend work.
Location: Moncton, New Brunswick
Position’s Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires a background in education, environmental health, and/or health care and will require direct interaction and communication with a wide variety of stakeholders. The Health & Education Programs Assistant will implement a number of community development projects designed to develop engagement in sustainability education initiatives, as well as activities to promote children’s environmental health. This individual will also gain valuable project evaluation experience through completing the organization’s overall evaluation of services.
Requirements:
• Organizational and coordination skills
• Strong oral and written communications skills in English and French
• Strong computer skills
• Out-going and personable

Nature Educator summer position (NatureNB)

Nature NB is seeking a Nature Educator for the summer. The Nature Educator will assist the Camp Director in directing nature education programs and projects for the duration of the position. He/she will be involved in and assist with all components of the summer nature camp program, as well as other projects. The Nature Educator will work towards our goal of the development of an ecologically-literate younger generation.
Requirements:
• 30 years of age and under; must be a student this year and next
• Canadian Citizen
• Willing to work in Fredericton primarily and travel to St. Andrews when camps are in session
• Completely bilingual (French and English)
Qualifications:
• Experience working with children and/or a background in education
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Preference to candidates with experience in residential outdoor education
• CPR and First Aid Certification required and criminal record check (venerable sector searches) for selected candidate
• Experience in wildlife biology and/or environmental sciences
• Competent with standard office equipment including computers, copiers and fax.
• Access to own computer is an asset.
• Capable, dependable, independent, and flexible
The Nature Educator will be expected to work 35 hours/week at $12/hour for 15 weeks. Some weekend and evening work will be required. Please send letter of interest along with a résumé to:
